Systems Analysis for Organizational Improvement

Components and Relationships

See the diagrams here

  • User Interaction: At the heart of the system are the users, representing individuals who interact with it. These interactions evolve as users take on different work roles.
  • Work Items: The system deals with various types of tasks or “work items” such as Problems, Changes, Requests, and Incidents, each requiring different levels of attention and action.
  • Change Control: A crucial aspect of system management involves tracking changes, requests, incidents, or problems. This is done through a state called ChangeControlRecord, which keeps a record of the details and progress of these activities.
  • Trouble Ticket Handling: The TroubleTickets state acts as a central hub for managing and resolving different work items. It streamlines the process, making it easier to address issues efficiently.
  • Framework Utilization: To enhance the system’s capabilities, it utilizes components like Loops, Functions, Playbooks, Mappings, and Roles, which contribute to its overall functionality and efficiency.

Flow and Sequence

  • User Journey: The workflow begins with users selecting their roles and engaging with trouble tickets. They can view, create, or edit tickets as needed.
  • Work Role Engagement: Users interact with various work items associated with their roles. This interaction triggers the creation of change control records, which help in tracking and documenting the progress of these activities.
  • Change Control: Every work item initiates the creation of a change control record, ensuring that all changes, requests, incidents, or problems are systematically managed and documented.
  • Request Processing: Requests go through evaluation and fulfillment stages, ensuring that they are handled systematically and resolved effectively.
  • Framework Integration: The system operates within a framework that incorporates critical components like loops, functions, playbooks, mappings, and roles. These components work together to ensure the system’s smooth functioning and efficiency.

Considerations in Development

  • Active Directory Optimization: By reviewing roles and their relationships within the Active Directory, the system’s organizational structure can be optimized to better align with its requirements.
  • Trouble Ticket System Enhancement: Improving the process of handling trouble tickets can lead to increased efficiency and reduced response times, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the system.
  • Mapping Optimization: Optimizing mappings and relationships ensures that the system accurately reflects its functionality and requirements, reducing redundancies and enhancing clarity.
  • State Diagram Optimization: Continuous review and refinement of states and transitions ensure that the system’s behavior and objectives are accurately represented and aligned.
